GWEN PARKS

SPORTS REPORTER, ANCHOR, AND HOST

I’m Gwen Parks, a sports reporter, host, and on-air personality based in the Washington, DC area (or the DMV, as we say here), with a passion for giving fans the inside scoop and making them feel like they’re right there on the field.

I’ve been on the sidelines with Big Ten Network+, covering everything from nail-biting football Saturdays to high-stakes basketball rivalries and championship soccer matches. At Indiana University Student Television, I anchored Hoosier Sports Nite and served as the College Football Beat Reporter, covering home and away games with in-depth analysis and on-site reporting. My coverage of IU’s hiring of head football coach Curt Cignetti earned me Indiana University’s Sports Story of the Year, a full circle moment to close out my senior year.

I also hosted The Hoosier Report with The Hoosier Network, delivering fast, engaging updates built for fans on social media, which quickly became a popular series amongst Indiana fans. During my time at IU, I also made history as the first female student journalist to conduct a sit-down interview with a Big Ten football head coach. That experience sharpened my drive to ask the questions fans truly care about and deliver the answers they want to hear.

When I’m not on camera, I put my storytelling into social media. I’ve been recruited by brands like Adidas, Raising Cane’s, and Urban Decay to create content for events and products, and I’ve also built my own audience over they years of more than 41k followers on TikTok by mixing sports coverage with personality and humor.

Since graduating from Indiana University, I have worked with Monumental Sports & Entertainment on broadcasts for the Wizards, Capitals, and Mystics, and I am currently interning with the Baltimore Ravens as a Broadcast Media Intern, managing video content, logging highlights, and supporting the production team during games and events.

Outside of reporting, I’m a loyal (and very hopeful) Chicago Bears fan. In high school I was on the swim team, did cheerleading, gymnastics, and rowed crew, so sports have always been my language. And speaking of language, I’m also partially fluent in American Sign Language. If I’m not working, I’m probably spending time with my friends and family, where I’ve given myself the title of “self-proclaimed comedian.” I also have a younger brother, Sam, who is a senior at Michigan State, so sometimes you might catch me cheering for the Spartans too.
